The build is the difference
Many recent Courchevel chalets are built in blockwork and clad in timber. Les Cochettes was built in stone and solid larch, with an exposed frame and a lauze roof, by local craftsmen. You notice it in use — thermal inertia, acoustics, light — more than in photographs.
Inside, aged wood covers the walls, floors and roof structure. The 90 sqm living space opens to the sky under the cathedral frame, and the bedrooms face the mountain.

On the rear terrace stands a genuine 1973 Samoëns gondola cabin, restored and repainted in Courchevel colours by a Savoyard workshop. It now serves as a breakfast nook facing the forest. The enclosed garden around it is regularly visited by roe deer at dawn and dusk.
Quiet luxury rather than display
The chalet sits in Courchevel Le Praz, away from the bustle of Courchevel 1850 yet six gondola minutes from it. That is a deliberate choice: the calm of a Savoyard village, better value for an equivalent surface, and exactly the same ski area.
Concierge services
A private chef, babysitting, private ski instructors, ski hire delivered to the chalet and private transfers can all be arranged on request through providers who know the house. These are charged separately and are not included in the rental price. Only the municipal Courchevel shuttle, stopping 50 m away, is free.
